The use of RFID tags and RFID cards must first be activated in the Timeberry settings: Settings
(small gear icon at the top right) → Enable RFID Tags/Cards.
For Timeberry to know which employee belongs to which RFID tag or card, this assignment needs to be made once.
Each RFID transponder has a unique ID that is set during manufacturing. This ID is stored in the Goodtime Time Tracking in the settings of the respective user, so Timeberry can correctly assign the employee.
The ID of the RFID transponder can easily be read with an NFC tool app for Android (e.g., NFC Tools). It is best to use the same device where Timeberry is also installed.
Open the Administration Menu in Goodtime
→ Users → Select user to
edit...
Enter the transponder ID in the RFID-UID
field. If this field is not displayed, the RFID feature in Timeberry is not yet activated (see
Activate RFID in Timeberry).
Now, when you hold the RFID transponder to the correct position on the Timeberry smartphone, the associated employee will be automatically clocked in or out in Goodtime. If problems arise, first check with an NFC tool app to see if the RFID tag or card is correctly recognized by the smartphone.
